In countless conversations with and visits to top eBay sellers, we have seen that one of the highest costs of doing business on eBay is answering questions from prospective and existing customers – in other words customer communication.  We have seen some sellers receive as many as five questions for each listing posted to eBay.

Also, in late 2005, eBay introduced the infamous “yellow button” system that automatically hides prospects’ emails and requires sellers to answer the emails via eBay’s MyMessages.

C3 (Customer Communication Center) provides a hosted application that streamlines the process of handling consumer emails.  This beta version is open to all sellers and is not integrated (yet!) with the CA auction management systems.

C3 is available to USA and UK sellers.

D2S (Direct2Search) aggregates ChannelAdvisor customer’s products and places them on top search engines via Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter and in the future, other sales channels. D2S pools product listings to optimize paid-search spend, and enables a group of merchants to maximize their advertising purchasing power beyond what they might do individually.  For example, several men’s apparel merchants would be able to improve their paid-search economics by leveraging their products to increase effective conversion rates.  The D2S beta is initially open to existing ChannelAdvisor customers only.   Participating merchants will pay ChannelAdvisor a success or final-value-fee, but no listing fees to participate.

D2S is initially only available in the USA to existing CA customers.

DSR Watch

DSRWatch is the easiest way to discover, track, and benchmark detailed eBay seller ratings.

In early 2007, eBay introduced a new twist to the feedback system called Feedback 2.0. As part of Feedback 2.0, eBay introduced Detailed Seller Ratings – four new ‘Criteria’ on which buyers can anonymously rate sellers. DSRs are going to be as important, if not MORE important than overall feedback starting in 2008.

Look up your own and your competitor's rating. Receive email alerts when those ratings change. And get advice from ChannelAdvisor about how to improve your ratings.
